The Successful Partnership between the OMHA and CoachThem

In the world of hockey development, having access to the right tools and resources can make all the difference in nurturing the skills of young athletes. An organization that knows this well is the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA). We spoke with Mike Dundas, Manager of Hockey Development with the OMHA, noting their mission to support coaches and provide them with the resources needed to help their teams thrive.
 

 

We’ve been working hand-in-hand with the OMHA for the past three years, and we are happy to announce that we have recently extended our partnership for an additional three years! Mike Dundas notes that this collaboration has been nothing short of amazing. Our platform and resources serve as an asset for OMHA’s coaches, enabling them to deliver practices efficiently and share them with assistant coaches, support staff, and athletes seamlessly. This process ensures that everyone is well-prepared both before and after practice sessions, ultimately benefiting the development of young hockey players.

Our organization-driven approach allows for greater continuity and better communication between the association and coaches. Coaches can easily track their progress over the season, facilitating the transfer of knowledge to new team members or the transition from one season to the next. This inclusivity ensures that every coach can leverage our platform’s capabilities to improve their coaching skills and help their players reach their full potential.

What sets the OMHA and CoachThem apart is our flexibility and commitment to each other’s success. We collectively, and actively, create drills that align with OMHA’s content pieces, using the platform as visual support. Check out some of our previous Drill of the Week content. The partnership is fluid, where both parties work together to achieve common goals and support one another in our endeavors.

 

 

The OMHA and CoachThem are also committed to continuous growth. Mike expresses excitement about spreading awareness of our platform, not only to coaches and teams but also to other hockey associations. The goal is for our platform to become an integral part of associations’ development programs. We offer associations the ability to monitor coaches’ activities, practice plans, and development progress throughout the season.

All in all, the partnership between the OMHA and CoachThem is a testament to the power of collaboration in sports development. By leveraging our innovative platform, OMHA is equipping coaches with the tools they need to nurture hockey stars!
