CoachThem is proud to officially welcome Nick Turcotte as our newest CoachThem Teammate, alongside his organization, the Turcotte Development Program (TDP).

Nick Turcotte is the Director of Operations for Turcotte Development Program and is entering his 21st year of training hockey players from the amateur to professional levels. Known for his ability to teach fundamentals with clarity while challenging elite players, Nick brings a deep understanding of skill development, structured progression, and long-term athlete growth.
Nick’s coaching specialties include stick-handling, edges, passing, shooting, and video review, and he is equally passionate about working with beginners as he is with advanced players—believing that strong habits and standards apply at every stage of development.
As a player, Nick competed at multiple levels of AAA and AA hockey, including time with the Lausanne Jr. Lions (Switzerland), Team Illinois, Glenview Stars, Chicago Chill, Chicago Blues, Cleveland Barons, and Northern Express. He went on to play four years of Junior hockey with the MN Ice Hawks, NJ Renegades, and Chicago Hitmen, before finishing his playing career at Davenport University.
Nick has worked with a number of top-level programs throughout his coaching career, including the Plymouth Whalers (OHL), Chicago Cougars (Jr. A), NJ Renegades (Jr. A), Detroit Compuware (AAA), Chicago Young Americans (AAA), and Colorado Rampage (AAA).

Currently, Nick runs private and group lessons through Turcotte Development Program in Kansas City, Missouri, while also coaching for, and serving as Player Development Director of the Advent Health Sportspark Icehawks Hockey Association, where he continues to lead group development and on-ice training.
A third-generation hockey coach, Nick’s roots in the game run deep. He is the oldest grandson of Real Turcotte, founder of the Turcotte Stickhandling School; the oldest son of Alfie Turcotte (Montreal Canadiens & Washington Capitals); and the brother of Alex Turcotte, currently with the Los Angeles Kings. Through the Turcotte Stickhandling School, the Turcotte family has worked with NHL organizations such as the Columbus Blue Jackets, Carolina Hurricanes, Atlanta Thrashers, and Nashville Predators, helping over 3,000 young players advance to NCAA Division III hockey or higher.
The Turcotte Development Program (TDP) is built on structured progression, creativity under pressure, and long-term player development—a philosophy that aligns seamlessly with CoachThem’s mission to support coaches with clarity, organization, and purpose.
