As a new team, it's important to be ready from the start of the puck drop. Unlike other franchises, Vegas doesn't have a core group of players who have been together for several years. As a new franchise team, you're putting 20 players together and trying to find chemistry amongst them as quickly as possible.

It is also important to make sure that the players in our organization understand the language and systems put in place to build a future competitive, winning team. It is no different than any minor hockey association—if you're not on the same page, speaking the same language, it will be difficult to have a successful association that is developing players to play hockey the right way and coaches who continue to learn and teach correctly.

Having a drill bank of organized drills and plans to build a substance of structure in the fastest way will only help keep a team from wasting time and making mistakes that could slow down the process of becoming a champion.
